"Brave" Satan

In class today we talked about why Satan rebelled against God. And, we touched on the word brave. I believe that when someone is brave, or has courage, he takes a stand against a being who has been doing something wrathful. From that, I think of Robin Hood. And, I don't think this applies to Satan because God was never acting badly. God is the essence of good, so Satan wasn't brave.

    Makes sense to me, Lani. But, if it weren't God who Lucifer rebels against, would he then be brave?

    I personally think Satan is brave because he had the audacity to start a war against someone who is all knowing.

    Satan did have the audacity to start the war against God, but I don't think he's brave for doing that. It doesn't make him "good" all of a sudden. Satan is everything but admirable.

    I agree it does not make Satan good in anyway. But is being brave synonymous for being good?

    Generally it is. However, we have an outside point of view. Satan might have thought he was brave for going to war. But others who aren't Lucifer might think otherwise. Depending on how the circumstances are presented, and how one might interpret them is all relative to that person. I don't know if that makes sense?
