Othello confusion..
I don't know if this is one of those things where we find out later or if it remains ambiguous, but it seems like the only person Iago has a reason to hate is Cassio. Why does he hate Othello so much? It cannot just be a racist hatred, Iago seems too obsessive about his plans to destroy Othello for it to be founded solely on racism.

Most readers would agree with you, Molly. There's got to be something more than what we are being told. Let's see what we can come up with, what you can come up with.
ReplyDeleteMolly, I know we sorta covered this topic in class but I have come up with some different reasons since then. I think Iago be confused especially because Othello tends to trust Iago with his most personal secrets but gives the promotion to someone else. Personally I think its easier for someone to hate a person they know then one they do not know. Obviously Iago knows Othello very well so Othello is an easier target to hate.
