All the music in Apocalypse Now is so eerie! And, I think it's very fitting because we know that in all the mess of the Vietnam War, something else is happening. Can evil take shape in music?
I have no doubt that evil can take place in music. Composers have the ability to include feeling and emotions into their music. Remember, when we listened to the song "Devil went down to Georgia" in teh beginning of the year? When the devil played his fiddle the sounds coming out of the instrument were crude and harsh. I would associate those sounds with evil. So music can be evil!
I've often thought of the minor key creates the feeling of a crazed circus. At the Dolong Bridge where Lance gets off the boat, the music certainly the acid trip that he is on, like Disney Land.
Yeah the music in Apocalypse now had some interesting choices and the Bridge music definitely surprised me but the "The End" song by The Doors seemed to fit the movie.
